The PUBG Mobile World League 2020 is delivering some intense matches. This international PUBG Mobile event is one of the biggest tournaments this year. Vietnam’s representative, Box Gaming, is competing alongside 19 top PUBG MOBILE teams from the Eastern region, all battling for the championship and a prize pool of $100,000!
The PUBG Mobile World League 2020 brings together some of the strongest teams from Asia, featuring top squads from PMPL and PUBG Mobile Club Opens (PMCO) in their regions. This is the first major international event of 2020 organized by Tencent, split into two regions: East and West. Vietnam’s Box Gaming is competing in the East division alongside teams from Southeast Asia, South Asia, Korea, China, Hong Kong, and Wildcard entries.
Yesterday, the Vietnamese PUBG Mobile community group was buzzing with posts supporting Box Gaming. However, some players expressed frustration, claiming Box Gaming was targeted unfairly as opponents allegedly teamed up to gain an advantage. Specifically, some accused the Thai team of unsportsmanlike behavior by teaming up to secure better standings.
These posts quickly gained support from Vietnamese gamers, many condemning the alleged behavior as unacceptable. Yet, some players offered a more objective view, suggesting this was not a case of teaming up and that the original poster misunderstood what happened during the match.
One player clarified, “This clip is from yesterday’s PMWL match. YOODOGANK is the Malaysian team riding a Vespa, killed by Box’s Pimay10, not the Thai team.” Several others agreed, pointing out that the team in question was Yoodo from Malaysia, not Thailand’s squad.
It seems some fans may have gotten a bit carried away in supporting their team. Still, this shows the strong backing Vietnamese players have for Box Gaming and highlights the rivalry with Thai teams, even though it’s not confirmed whether any teaming actually took place.
Despite their best efforts, Box Gaming finished 9th on the leaderboard yesterday. Although 9th place overall, their kill count matched Orange Rock and was well ahead of teams like T1, TSM, and MegaStars. Right now, what fans need to do is support their team calmly and respectfully. Whether teaming actually happened will become clearer in time.
