Just trying to jump on a TikTok trend, this med student casually posted a video threatening to “get back” at patients using medical techniques, shocking everyone about her awareness and ethics as a future healthcare worker.

Threatening to “Revenge” on Patients Sparks Online Fury

Recently, a TikTok clip featuring a female med student in a white coat grabbed major attention. The video shows her filming herself with a caption that seems to warn patients.

Specifically, she imagines a scenario: “Patient yells at me: ‘You’re just a med student, what do you know?’ So I’m going to put your bed in the corner and miss the vein three times.”

Notably, the clip includes text saying “Enough is enough, if patients mess with me today, it’s not going to end well” with hashtags like #whitecoatjokes, #medstudentfun, #fact. The video quickly got nearly 10,000 likes and thousands of shares and comments.

While she might have meant it as a joke or to ride a social media trend, using medical procedures that cause real pain and affect patient health as a threat sparked unprecedented backlash from the online community.

A Flood of Criticism from Netizens

Once the clip spread across social platforms, thousands rushed in with angry comments. Most agreed that even if it’s just online content, threatening patients’ health out of anger is totally unacceptable for someone studying medicine.

Many expressed frustration and concern. One user wrote, “Doctors should be like kind parents. If you think like this, don’t study medicine! Is this some low-level med course? No medical ethics, just quit.” Another agreed, “These kids should retake ethics before studying medicine. The medical profession is highly respected, but nurses and doctors like this are dangerous.”

Many shared painful experiences of botched vein draws: “I once had a missed vein, it hurt so bad…,” or “I was hospitalized and they missed the vein, I reported it to the doctor right away.” Some expressed fear seeing more shallow clips like this: “Future doctors??? Seems easy to become a doctor now,” “Better not get sick, these days doctors are scary!”

Toxic Content Trends Among Some Young Med Students

This incident raises alarm about the “fake life” trend and disregard for standards among some med students today. Not long ago, two female interns at Duc Giang General Hospital livestreamed swearing and threatening to “inject poison” at the reception desk, stirring public outrage.

The repeated appearance of clips joking, threatening, or mocking patients shows a disturbing shift in content creation. Some young people are willing to use the serious medical environment and patients’ pain as clickbait without considering the serious consequences.

Drawing blood or inserting IVs is a basic medical skill requiring care and precision. Missing veins multiple times causes pain, bruising, physical harm, and psychological distress, affecting treatment. Turning this procedure into a “revenge tool,” even as a joke, shows deep disrespect for patients and professional ethics.

Strict Action Needed to Protect Medical Reputation

Medicine is one of the most noble professions, earning special respect from society. But that respect is built on sacrifice, ethics, and responsibility from generations of doctors and nurses. Irresponsible content from a few students can tarnish the whole field’s image.

With these ongoing incidents, many online voices call on medical schools to strengthen ethics education and online conduct rules from day one. They also urge strict discipline for individuals whose words or actions harm the medical profession’s reputation.

This med student’s clip threatening to “put beds in corners and miss veins three times” isn’t just a silly online joke. It’s a costly lesson in responsibility. Social media may be virtual, but the damage to public trust and patient feelings is very real. Wearing the white coat means upholding dignity and compassion before becoming a future doctor or nurse.
