These days, streamers usually put a lot of effort into their content and appearance whenever they go live. For them, that’s the bare minimum to attract viewers. However, over time, with changing tastes among some internet users, more and more lazy streamers have appeared who do nothing or even stay silent on stream, just lying down and sleeping, sometimes even snoring regularly, yet still drawing hundreds, sometimes thousands or even tens of thousands of viewers. But sleeping isn’t always safe under platform rules, as shown by the case of Edyrin below.
Edyrin is known as a fairly famous female streamer in South Korea, but not always for positive reasons. She used to stream on Twitch but was banned after some videos leaked showing her and her boyfriend naked during a stream. At that time, Edyrin announced she was “retiring” and paused streaming but later made a surprise comeback, admitting she couldn’t resist her fans’ love. Currently, she streams on Afreeca TV, another well-known platform in South Korea.
Moving to a new platform didn’t stop the troubles. Recently, for reasons unknown, maybe a lack of creativity or ideas, Edyrin decided to set up a mosquito net and go to sleep live on stream. She told viewers she’d chat for a bit before sleeping. You’d expect viewers to drop off, but instead, her audience actually grew while she was sound asleep.
The catch was her very short sleepwear, especially the shorts, combined with her awkward sleeping positions that made viewers nervous and worried about potential wardrobe malfunctions on live stream. Given her past, any violation could easily get her banned from the platform again. Luckily, after a long nap from morning to afternoon, she woke up, said a few words to viewers, and ended the stream without any incidents. Still, clips and screenshots of her awkward sleeping poses quickly spread across social media.
While this kind of content might boost Edyrin’s fame and get her more attention, it also has negative consequences. Now she’s under even closer watch from platform moderators. If she keeps being lazy and careless with her content like this, the risk of her channel getting banned again is very high.
