This is something many gamers have experienced: you crush your lane, out-farm your opponent, steal jungle buffs, but when it comes to 4v4 or 5v5 team fights, you suddenly feel useless compared to your early game dominance.
So what’s the problem? Let’s break it down.
1| You build items just for laning
This means the gear you buy during laning only serves one purpose: to completely shut down your opponent so they can’t breathe or fight back.
But those items don’t help much against the rest of the enemy team. For example, if you’re a top lane tank facing a super annoying Teemo, you might build full magic resist to shrug off his poke and focus on locking him down.
But if the other four enemies are all physical damage dealers, they’ll shred you quickly once the team fight starts. So what’s your contribution then?

2| You don’t pick the right angle to enter fights
Maybe you had a great laning phase and got a big ego, so you just dive in without thinking about positioning.
Or maybe you never even consider the importance of choosing the right angle when joining team fights, even though it’s crucial.
Laning just gives you a slight gold and buff advantage before the big fights. Picking the best angle to engage can help you make the most of that lead.
Imagine a Wukong with three items ulting straight into the enemy backline. What do you think happens?

3| You’re often late to big team fights
Just because you’re winning lane doesn’t mean the enemy will always stay there to get bullied. Sometimes a smart opponent will abandon their tower and farm to join their team and create a numbers advantage.
While you’re happily farming minions, a 4v5 fight breaks out across the map. By the time you get there, your teammates are already dead.
That one team fight can wipe out all your laning advantages.
4| Your team comp doesn’t work well together
You’ve probably heard of “wombo combos”, champions whose abilities synergize perfectly to deal massive damage and crowd control.
If the enemy team has those combos and your team doesn’t, your fights will often end in disaster.
I get it, you have your favorite champions, but try picking ones that fit better with your team’s overall strategy.

5| And the most frustrating: You’re the only one winning your lane
That means all the other lanes are feeding and falling behind. When that happens, it’s tough to carry team fights no matter how well you do. The enemy team is just too strong overall.

Have you ever faced these situations? Let’s talk about it!
