In today’s world, anything linked to celebrities can quickly become a hot collectible. So it’s no surprise when streamers, influencers, or popular online personalities sell their personal items.
But streamer Ta Tu Du recently set the internet buzzing by listing a pair of well-worn shoes she’s used for years at an eye-popping price, which converts to over 7 million VND (about $300).

Instead of quietly selling to interested buyers, her listing quickly turned into a heated topic on social media.
Many people argued the price was way too high for a pair of used shoes, while others defended her, saying it’s her personal property and buyers have the right to decide. Ta Tu Du shared that the shoes have obvious signs of wear after years of use. She even joked that she had “tormented” the shoes for many years. Usually, items like this wouldn’t fetch a high price. But when it comes to streamers or internet celebrities, things are different.
Fans are often willing to pay big money to own something linked to their idols. From clothes and accessories to everyday items, even the most ordinary things can become collectibles. Knowing this, the streamer set a price that surprised many.

After the post went live, a flood of critical comments appeared online. Some accused her of exploiting fans’ affection to sell old shoes at an outrageous price. Many said a pair of shoes used for years can’t be worth millions, no matter who owns them. Some even messaged her directly to express their frustration. Critics mainly said she was treating fans like easy targets willing to pay for anything related to their idol. But instead of staying silent or deleting the post, Ta Tu Du responded in a totally unexpected way.
On her personal page, she shared screenshots of messages from people interested in buying the shoes. One buyer kept bargaining, asking to pay just one-ninth of the price. After being refused, the person kept pleading, insisting they really wanted the shoes.

Her reaction grabbed attention when she bluntly told people without money not to worry about others’ business. She also emphasized she’s not forcing anyone to buy. According to her, those who keep criticizing or pressuring her are the ones acting unfairly. She believes it’s unacceptable to use emotions to force someone to sell their personal property cheaply.
As the story spread, the online community split into two clear sides. One group thought Ta Tu Du’s price was unreasonable and a cash grab from fans. They felt selling old shoes for way above their real value was unacceptable. On the other hand, many defended her, saying it’s a voluntary transaction. No one is forced to buy, and if someone is willing to pay that price, it’s their right as buyers and sellers.
