Authorities report that a high school teacher in Georgia is now facing serious charges after being accused of engaging in sexual acts with a student on school grounds.

Maris Nichols, 25, a biology teacher at Alexander High School in Douglas, was arrested last Friday. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Nichols faces two counts of sexual misconduct and abuse. The first incident reportedly happened on April 23 inside a closet between classrooms at Alexander High School. The second took place on May 2 inside a Hummer parked in the driveway area in Douglasville.
