If you’re a gamer or a hardcore Manga/Anime fan, you’re probably used to amazing fan art on paper, digital screens, or even walls. But creating art by brushing the fabric nap on sweatpants? That’s something you don’t see every day.

Recently, the internet has been buzzing over some seriously cool photos from an artist named Zhao in Nanjing, China. During his time stuck at home, Zhao got bored and looked down at the sweatpants he was wearing. He noticed that brushing the fabric’s nap in different directions created light and dark patches. And just like that, the “Master of Sweatpants Art” was born!

From Goku to Master Roshi: Just a Light Touch Creates Masterpieces

With only his hands and sometimes a small brush, Zhao transformed ordinary sweatpants into a mini Anime museum. Legendary characters like Son Goku, Master Roshi, and even Pikachu and Doraemon come to life with incredible detail and soul.

What amazes people the most is his skill with shading and depth. Even though it’s just tiny fabric fibers, Zhao’s 20-plus years as an oil painter make these characters look as sharp and professional as any traditional painting.

Not Just Dragon Ball…

Zhao didn’t stop at “Dragon Ball.” He also recreated other iconic pieces like:

Mona Lisa: A luxurious “velvet” version fit for royalty.

Luffy (One Piece): Exuding the confident vibe of a pirate king.

Spirited Away: Full of artistic nostalgia and charm.

Many viewers couldn’t help but say things like “True talent turns even breathing into art” or “I don’t think I could ever wash these pants now!”.
