Recently, an incident that insulted the group happened on a well-known TV channel. According to a recent report by MyD Daily, the Indian channel News NationTV aired a BlackPink performance video. However, the shocking part was that while the video played, the phrase “Chinese strippers” appeared on screen. Viewers were immediately outraged and demanded a public apology to BlackPink.
Since the incident, fans and gamers in India have flooded Twitter with hashtags like #ShameOnYouNewsNation and #ApologizeNewNation to express their anger. Many fans, including League of Legends players, voiced their deep disappointment over such a major mistake from a national TV channel.
On an Indian BlackPink fan page, many fans reiterated that BlackPink is from South Korea and urged News NationTV to fact-check before sharing content with their audience. News NationTV later issued an apology, explaining it was a technical error when uploading the BlackPink video. Once they realized the mistake, they immediately removed the offensive text.
However, this apology wasn’t enough for many fans and gamers in India. They felt the channel did not show enough sincerity in apologizing to the famous girl group. News Nation is one of the biggest Hindi-language TV channels in India, and this error happened during a live broadcast, sparking a huge backlash in the country.
