After being fined over 7.5 million VND for sharing content promoting superstition, YouTuber Thơ Nguyễn officially disabled monetization on her channel, hid all her videos, and said goodbye after five years of creating content.
Though she’s no longer active on YouTube, Thơ Nguyễn has started to come back from the shock. Recently, she went online on Facebook to share updates about her feelings and thoughts on the recent controversy. The Binh Duong-based YouTuber wrote a heartfelt apology:
“I’m sorry to all of you. Every night I’m haunted by what happened, waking up with swollen eyes. This is the consequence of a huge mistake made out of carelessness. I’m sorry, I’m truly sorry to everyone.”
She also revealed that someone had advised her to take down the doll video because of its sensitive content, but she was too confident: “The kids watching TikTok are already grown up and understand things. I didn’t remove it because I wanted to do whatever I liked on my TikTok.” This led to heavy criticism from viewers.

My mistake was being too confident, thinking everyone played with dolls like I did. I’ve been playing with dolls for over 20 years, so joking around with them felt normal, but that was a mistake.
I was confident that kids would know these were just dolls, and that was also a mistake.
Ignoring warnings and staying too confident was another mistake.
Allowing others to reupload my clips and cause misunderstandings was a mistake.
And the biggest mistake was affecting the kids.
Another mistake was being so overwhelmed that I didn’t personally apologize to the kids on YouTube sooner.”
Unfortunately, her apology didn’t seem to win back viewers’ trust, especially since she emphasized that “playing with dolls for 20 years means joking around is normal.”
In the end, she expressed regret and confirmed she won’t be making videos anymore: “Goodbye to the clips, goodbye to the days of traveling to shoot vlogs everywhere. Goodbye to all of you whom I’m grateful to for life. Please live well and be good people. I love you all endlessly. I’m sorry I can’t come back.”
On the same Facebook account, Thơ Nguyễn also shared that she has been doing charity work, even during the peak of the public backlash.
