Over the past few years, Sang Vlog has surprisingly risen to become a name worth noticing. Fans affectionately nicknamed him the “poorest YouTuber in Vietnam” thanks to his simple videos and mountain village dishes that rack up millions of views. This nickname came from the fact that he still lives in a house made of bamboo and thatch with a rusty metal roof. Inside, there’s only a small room with one bed for his mother while he sleeps on the floor. Early on, he didn’t even have a computer to edit videos and had to shoot and edit everything on an old smartphone. However, those days of being called Vietnam’s poorest YouTuber are behind him now. Sang Vlog himself doesn’t like the nickname and has often openly shared his YouTube earnings.
But recently, Sang Vlog shocked the online community by sharing that his home was broken into on the morning of the fifth day of Tet while he was out filming a vlog with neighborhood kids in the forest. According to his story, when he returned home around noon on the sixth day, he found the door lock broken and the inside of the house ransacked. Many valuable items like his camera and savings money were gone without a trace. Even more upsetting, his YouTube Gold and Silver Play Buttons were vandalized, with the YouTube logos in the center pried off.
The photos Sang Vlog shared quickly drew sympathy from the online community, who felt sorry for the YouTuber but were also angry at the thief’s actions. Many advised him to involve the authorities and hoped he would recover his stolen items soon. They also urged him to stay vigilant to avoid similar incidents in the future.
