Since its rise, the Mukbang trend has been embraced by many YouTubers who built their channels around it.
Positively, Mukbang videos show YouTubers enjoying huge meals, sharing the joy of eating with viewers. But on the flip side, some creators have faced criticism for food waste and editing tricks in their Mukbang clips. And honestly, very few people can keep filming Mukbang videos day after day without their bodies changing.

Take Nicholas Perry for example, a well-known YouTuber famous for his Mukbang videos.
Over time, Nicholas showed his honest journey as his weight steadily climbed. At his heaviest, he reached 171kg, visibly heavier than when he started. His health even took a serious hit at one point, landing him in the hospital on a ventilator. But even then, Nicholas kept making Mukbang videos.

After a while, Nicholas disappeared from YouTube for about seven months after his last video. Fans grew worried about his health and well-being. Then, unexpectedly, he made a stunning comeback. He returned looking slim again, continuing Mukbang videos but this time focusing on vegan meals.

Nicholas revealed he had pre-recorded these videos and actually started losing weight and eating vegan two years ago. This comeback video has racked up over 28 million views and earned lots of support for its healthier message.
