The American YouTube channel Adventures with Purpose has long been known for its mysterious explorations, especially diving into rivers and waterways. Their goal is pretty noble: to show viewers how they’re working to clean up the environment. However, despite their good intentions, the channel’s views and subscribers barely grew, until an unexpected event happened in May last year.

While diving about 22 feet deep in Oregon’s Willamette River, the team suddenly discovered a sunken car buried under the trash they were cleaning up. What made it terrifying was that when they got closer, they found a body sitting in the driver’s seat. Shocked, they called the police. At that moment, no one could have guessed they were about to help solve a 12-year-old cold case.

After investigation, police identified the victim as Timothy Robinson, who had been missing since November 2008 at age 56. Despite years of effort, authorities had struggled to find out what happened, until this YouTube team’s discovery finally brought answers.

The YouTubers later shared that Timothy Robinson’s family reached out to thank them deeply, expressing relief after years of unanswered questions. Since then, Adventures with Purpose has continued searching for other missing persons and has successfully solved several more cases.
