With the pandemic still ongoing, staying home all day has become a new normal for many of us. YouTubers have had to adapt by filming videos at home instead of going out freely like before. This shift has inspired many creators to come up with unique and eye-catching content.

However, in the case of YouTuber Di Mei, her latest video sparked a lot of backlash. On July 17, she posted a video titled “What happens if you cook instant noodles with Coke?” In the video, Di Mei didn’t just use Coke, she also cooked noodles using banana milk, soy milk, bottled salt water, and several other drinks as part of her challenge.

After cooking, Di Mei tasted all the dishes she made. She was surprisingly excited to discover that noodles cooked with soy milk actually tasted better. But when she tried the noodles cooked with Coke, she found the flavor absolutely awful. “It tastes like expired herbal medicine mixed with sugar,” Di Mei exclaimed after trying the Coke noodles.

Once the video went live, it quickly gained a huge number of views. But most comments were harsh, criticizing the content as pointless. Many even called her “crazy” for coming up with such a bizarre idea. “You can almost smell how awful that bowl of noodles is just watching the video. Di Mei is definitely crazy,” one harsh viewer wrote on YouTube.

With her charming looks and constant creativity, Di Mei has built a successful YouTube channel with over 1.4 million subscribers. She’s won fans over with content like eating 100% vegan for a week and dressing up as a guy to work in a supermarket. But this Coke noodle video crossed a line for many, and it’s probably best if she steers clear of such extreme experiments in the future.
