Power banks have become essential for many people as smartphone use keeps skyrocketing. If you’ve ever shopped for one or researched them, you probably know that most popular portable chargers range between 10,000 and 20,000 mAh, enough to recharge a phone 3 to 6 times. But recently, a YouTuber stunned everyone by building a giant power bank with a whopping 27 million mAh capacity.
The man behind this is Handy Geng, a well-known figure in China’s electronics scene. But his fame really took off after making this colossal power bank. It didn’t take long for his YouTube channel to attract tons of attention. Handy explained that he built it simply because he got tired of friends having bigger power banks than him. That’s it.
First, he bought a large battery core typically used in electric vehicles, then encased it in a shell that looks like a regular power bank. He made some adjustments and added 220V power outlets. Sounds simple, right? But Handy revealed this battery has 60 power sockets, can charge 20 devices at once, and can even power a TV or washing machine, though only for a limited time depending on the stored charge.
There’s no denying Handy’s creativity. But after the initial wow factor, many people started questioning how practical it really is. With its massive size, it’s probably safe to say no one but Handy is going to carry this beast around.
