The “Flex Till Your Last Breath” group was created in late May. In just under two months, it grew to 1.4 million members. The rapid rise in both members and the variety of flex content shows how this trend has captured the attention of many young people.
The group founder, Dang Huu Thinh (born 1994, from Da Lat), noticed that many talented young Vietnamese lacked a space to freely share their achievements. He wanted the group to be a place where anyone could spread positivity and motivation to others.
However, on the evening of July 20, Thinh surprised everyone by announcing the group would pause activities for six months.
“I was truly amazed by the huge number of users joining the group. I want to thank all the veteran members who contributed quality posts, goals, and VAR checks from before the group went viral, as well as students, entrepreneurs, KOLs, singers, actors, MCs, athletes, and more who enthusiastically spread positive energy. I also apologize for the many posts that weren’t approved.
But I ask to archive the group for six months to allow for changes and improvements for both the group and the Flex community. Maybe after six months, some of you will have special achievements and more content to share. We’ll meet again when the group reopens at midnight on January 23, 2024,” Thinh said.

Under the announcement, many online users expressed regret that the group was pausing before they could flex. Some young members quickly joined new flex groups like “Flex Till Your Last Breath of Life” and “Nothing to Flex”.
Member Thi Yen Phuong Nguyen wrote, “Thank you, admin Dang Huu Thinh, for creating such a meaningful space that inspires and motivates everyone in the group. I was lucky to share a post and connect with others before the group paused. Grateful and appreciative.”
Anny Nguyen joked, “Flex till your last breath, but now it’s pausing for six months. So you’re breathing and suddenly stop? Will we still be breathing when it comes back?”
Member Bao Le agreed with the admin’s decision to pause, saying, “Although I don’t have achievements to flex like others, I’ve noticed the group has been losing its vibe lately. Posts and comments don’t feel as fun as before.
The group grew fast like a kite in the wind, but the wind can also snap the string. We should rest for six months to avoid failure. Then the group can come back stronger.”
Amid the huge buzz around “Flex Till Your Last Breath,” the founder has received offers to sell the group. However, Thinh insists he won’t sell it because he wants to keep spreading positive energy to everyone.
