The 6 AM update on February 3rd from the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention reported 9 new community COVID-19 cases in Hai Duong (2 cases), Hanoi (1 case), Gia Lai (4 cases), and Binh Duong (2 cases).
Details:
– Hanoi recorded 1 patient (case 1883): a close contact of case 1814 linked to the outbreak in Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province.
– Hai Duong reported 2 patients (cases 1884 – 1885): workers from Chi Linh city who were already in quarantine, with no risk of community transmission, and tested negative on their first test on January 28.
– Binh Duong recorded 2 patients (cases 1886 – 1887): both close contacts of cases 1843 and 1801 linked to the Chi Linh outbreak in Hai Duong.
– Gia Lai confirmed 4 patients (cases 1888 – 1891): 3 close contacts related to the POYUN company outbreak in Hai Duong, 1 case is still under epidemiological investigation.
Total COVID-19 cases in Vietnam: 1891
– As of 6 AM on February 3rd: Vietnam has a total of 1003 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, with 310 new cases recorded since January 27.
– From 6 PM on February 2nd to 6 AM on February 3rd: 9 new cases, with zero imported cases quarantined upon arrival.
Quarantine status: The total number of people in close contact or arriving from outbreak areas currently under health monitoring (quarantine) is 27,714, including:
– Hospital quarantine: 227
– Centralized quarantine at other facilities: 20,917
– Home or accommodation quarantine: 6,570.
Treatment update: According to the Treatment Subcommittee of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, 1,461 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far.
Among patients currently receiving treatment nationwide, 3 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 7 patients have tested negative twice, and 2 patients have tested negative three times.
Among those under treatment, patient 1536 at Da Nang Lung Hospital is the most severe case. This patient is elderly with a history of hypertension and diabetes.
