Not long ago, a male TikToker openly declared, “Determined to take down all local eateries,” when he posted a review of Sà Bì Chưởng. His description raised concerns about the powerful influence TikTokers hold, and how it can negatively impact food businesses.

The review video instantly blew up across social media and mainstream media outlets. While reviewers have the right to share their opinions, this TikToker’s harsh comments sparked a heated backlash. The fallout was so big it even made national TV.
Recently, another TikToker with just 135 followers posted their own Sà Bì Chưởng review. Along with some praise, they stirred controversy by saying things like, “The rice grains are too loose, kind of undercooked… or maybe that’s just how broken rice is,” and “The pork skin smells a bit off.” They wrapped up by saying, “For me, this meal isn’t anything special, and 89,000 VND isn’t really worth it.”

This TikToker’s review didn’t sit well with many users, who suggested they might have never actually tried “cơm tấm” (broken rice) before and lacked the knowledge to critique it properly. Still, as always, everyone has the right to their opinion, but it’s important to stay within the limits of personal experience before passing judgment.
