Many internet users still remember L.A.N’s hearty, nutritious meals, this popular TikToker gained fame for videos showing diverse, balanced dishes all for just 26,000 VND. When he first blew up, fans admired and loved how he could whip up such varied menus at such affordable prices.
Recently, L.A.N expanded his activities by producing and selling his own food products. Specifically, he started selling fermented shrimp paste at 400,000 VND per kilogram. Another male TikToker criticized this price as too high, pointing out that good pork costs only about 100,000 to 150,000 VND per kilogram, and the shrimp paste he sells is just 40,000 VND per bottle that can be used up to 10 times.
L.A.N previously explained that his recipe includes pork, shrimp, fermented shrimp paste, spices, galangal, plus packaging and e-commerce platform fees. Also, the pork shrinks after cooking, so 1 kilogram of raw meat results in less final product. Despite his explanations and support from fans, he still faced attempts by rivals to drag him down to boost themselves.
After the controversy, L.A.N suddenly closed the product link. However, the real reason was that he received over 600 orders thanks to fans’ support and couldn’t keep up with production. So he temporarily disabled the product on the platform for three days to catch up on making and shipping orders.
