The online community and TikTok users know Pun Pun for her daily life videos and her passion for collecting Lolita fashion.
Her real name is Pham Diem Quynh, a Gen Z living and working in Hanoi. She owns a collection of puffy Lolita dresses inspired by Japanese anime style. Notably, these dresses are quite pricey. On average, one dress costs between 3 to 5 million VND. Some special pieces even range from 10 to 20 million VND.
Pun insists that she bought all her outfits herself. Her funds come from running a small shop selling designer dresses, modeling, and TikTok earnings. She says she’s not a luxury brand fan and only spends when her finances allow and on special occasions.
Recently, while opening up to her community, Pun caught attention by revealing details about her cosmetic surgery. She had previously shared photos of the process but only now disclosed the financial side: she spent 5 million VND of her own money and asked her parents for 195 million VND to cover the surgery.
For Pun, being teased and body-shamed back in middle school left lasting scars and insecurities about her appearance. That’s why she was determined to change and become more confident. Though her parents initially opposed the idea, they eventually supported her because of her strong will.
Unlike the understanding from most viewers, some netizens accused her of “just spending her parents’ money” and called her “princess syndrome.” At first, she stayed calm, focused on her work to prove herself. But she later fired back, saying, “Asking my parents for money doesn’t affect or concern anyone else,” so she shouldn’t get those negative comments. Above all, Pun knows her family and friends truly understand who she is.
While she doesn’t encourage cosmetic surgery for everyone, Pun believes that if it helps someone feel more confident or improves their career opportunities, then it’s worth pursuing.
