TikTok is known as one of the most popular entertainment platforms today. Not just in Vietnam but worldwide, TikTok has achieved huge success in both revenue and downloads. It has also become a launchpad for many young creators and famous TikTokers, turning them into key opinion leaders across various fields.

But with its benefits come serious downsides. TikTok hides many issues that have drawn public concern and criticism. One major problem is the rise of negative content that even goes against traditional values. The main goal of these clips is nothing more than grabbing views and boosting engagement.

To maximize views, many TikTokers have created unhealthy content. Some clips even feature morally corrupt themes. Surprisingly, even well-known TikTokers have taken part in scripting and acting in these videos.

For example, a verified TikTok account recently posted two clips with offensive content. Viewers watching these videos might easily associate them with the controversial ‘18+ exchange’ trend that was widely condemned not long ago for clashing with Vietnam’s cultural values.

These two clips even feature faces familiar to young audiences. This has sparked outrage among viewers who believe such content must be strongly condemned. These videos could cause negative consequences, especially for younger viewers.

In the comments, many viewers expressed their anger and disapproval of this kind of “dirty” content. To get views, some TikTokers are willing to create corrupt scripts without considering the potential consequences. This is a major problem TikTok is causing for its audience. While the app still hosts plenty of wholesome content, the rise of toxic videos is making viewers develop a negative impression of TikTok and overlook those trying to produce clean, positive content.
