In TFT right now, there’s a game mode that’s really catching players’ attention – the 2v2 mode. Basically, in this mode, there are 4 pairs of players, each pair made up of 2 teammates. The goal for the duo is not just to compete as usual but also to support each other. If one player’s health drops to zero, even if their teammate is still alive, the whole team loses.

Besides letting players team up with friends to battle others, this mode also makes it easier to upgrade your champions to high levels or get the perfect items – something that’s pretty tough in 1v1 without risky “eco” strategies or good luck. But even so, 2v2 mode isn’t without its share of frustrating moments.
Recently, a player shared their match results on a big TFT forum. You can see this player had three 5-cost champions at 3 stars: Tahm Kench, Jinx, and Zeri. They also had two 5-cost champions at 2 stars: Galio and Jayce. Yet, they only managed to finish in 3rd place.

The post caught the community’s attention. Some comments showed sympathy, saying the player was unlucky because their teammate got knocked out too early.

But after looking closer, many quickly flipped and criticized this player for being too selfish. Apparently, their teammate sacrificed everything for them, leaving their own team nearly destroyed with only Draven 2-star and Vi 2-star left. Some bluntly said, “Playing selfish like this, losing is expected. Why cry about it?”

In TFT’s 2v2 mode, sometimes players have to “sacrifice health” for their teammate to secure the final win. Each player’s job is to balance their own and their partner’s team. If not, not only will they lose, but they could also become the target of community backlash for selfish behavior.
