Last night was a tough moment for Vietnam’s Liên Quân Mobile scene as our top hope, Team Flash, was knocked out early at AWC 2021 after failing to get past the group stage. Team Flash left the tournament as the reigning champions from 2019, when they won on home turf.
But landing in the so-called “group of death” and losing to the weakest team from Indonesia, Team Flash basically shot themselves in the foot. If they hadn’t lost to Dewa, considered the easy target of Group A, their fate might have been very different. Team Flash is called the number one hope because everyone knows their strong international reputation.
They’re also known for handling pressure well, both from within and outside, often improving as the competition goes on. Their performance in the recent Spring Arena of Glory is a perfect example.
But that’s just how it goes in life. Winners get crowned kings, while losers often face harsh criticism and sometimes insults from the community. Team Flash was no exception last night, as their livestream was flooded with complaints from Vietnamese Liên Quân players.
To be fair, Team Flash did make mistakes losing to the Indonesian team, but winning and losing is part of the game. Even the greatest champions face tough outcomes sometimes. So, is it really fair for the community to throw harsh words at Team Flash?
When it comes to international tournaments, whether it’s Team Flash, Saigon Phantom, or V Gaming, what matters is that they represent Vietnam on the regional and world Liên Quân stage. Maybe it’s time we judge and support them more fairly and respectfully. No Vietnamese team deserves to be met with such harsh and insulting criticism.
