They say school is full of mischief, so it’s no surprise that alongside honest efforts, many students try to find ways to cheat during exams. Back in the day, cheating was pretty low-tech, like writing notes on desks or using cheat sheets. But now, with advancing technology, cheating methods have gotten way more sophisticated. Recently, one guy shocked the online community by using a 4.0 tech cheat, a Bluetooth sandal.
According to Indian media, during a national exam held in India, 10 students from Rajasthan were caught cheating. What made this case stand out was how clever their method was, they wore flip-flops that had been modified. At first glance, these sandals looked normal, but hidden between the sole and the footbed was a tiny Bluetooth device. Paired with miniature earpieces, the students could receive answers from outside the exam hall.
Local police said they spotted suspicious individuals hanging around outside the exam room a day before the test started and launched an investigation. What shocked everyone was the price of each “high-tech” sandal, 600,000 rupees, which is about 180 million VND (roughly $7,500). Reports say a total of 25 students were caught using this device. After the incident, police issued warnings across India and required students to enter exam halls barefoot.
