League of Legends and DOTA 2 are two of the biggest MOBA games worldwide. While DOTA 2 has lost ground in some parts of Asia, LoL isnt as dominant in North America and Europe compared to regions like Chinas LPL and Koreas LCK. The Eastern LoL scene has absolutely ruled the World Championship since 2012.

The LoL and DOTA 2 communities often clash over which game truly reigns supreme in the MOBA world. Even details like tournament prize pools, event scale, and legendary players spark heated debates between fans of these two esports giants.

Recently, the rivalry flared up again, sparked by popular Twitch streamer xQcOW, who streams a variety of games like DOTA 2 and Overwatch and has millions of views. On December 25, during a debate with former Riot employee Blautoise, Blautoise criticized DOTA 2s design as overly complicated and questioned why some think harder games are better.
In response, xQcOW fired back harshly at LoL players, calling them “weak”: “LoL only has about three active items, and Riot even considered removing some because too many buttons make it hard for LoL players to use them properly. What else can you expect from a bunch of weaklings? Like, ‘Oh no, five buttons? Too many, I cant handle it! So exhausting!’
This comment didnt sit well with Blautoise, and the two continued their intense back-and-forth. The debate ended with no clear winner.
However, just days later, fans discovered that xQcOW has been tryharding LoL himself. He reached level 77 and even spent money on skins. While playing, he showed serious dedication and got frustrated when killed or when mistakes happened.

After mocking the LoL community as “weak,” xQcOWs own tryharding led many to accuse him of clickbait. Still, it proves how strong LoLs appeal is and how the game keeps growing.
