Diablo Immortal is one of the most talked-about games among players worldwide right now. If you’re into the story mode, it’s still a compelling title you won’t want to miss. But with mobile gaming booming over the last decade, multiplayer has become a must-have feature, and Diablo Immortal is no exception.

If you want to do anything in Diablo Immortal’s multiplayer, paying money is almost mandatory. That’s the reality for most games with PvP modes. Recently, the YouTube channel Bellular News estimated that players might need to spend around $110,000 to fully gear their characters in Diablo Immortal. Of course, this is just their take, but plenty of streamers have shown that spending huge amounts in this game is real.

Specifically, a streamer from New Zealand spent nearly $4,000 on Diablo Immortal but didn’t get a single 5-star legendary gem. Not ready to give up, this streamer kept pouring money into the game, eventually spending over 10,000 New Zealand dollars, which is roughly 150 million Vietnamese dong.

Many might find it hard to believe why someone could spend so much without getting valuable items, since most gacha games guarantee rare rewards after a certain spending threshold. As mentioned, you can play Diablo Immortal without spending a dime. But the game’s microtransaction system feels like a trap to many players, which has sparked a lot of frustration. That’s why Diablo Immortal has received thousands of negative reviews on Metacritic and holds a shockingly low 0.5 User Score on iOS.
