If you haven’t heard, the US has been hit by an intense heatwave recently. The hottest spot right now is Texas, where daytime temperatures often reach 38 to 39 degrees Celsius. Such extreme heat can cause heatstroke even in healthy adults and can be life-threatening.

Popular streamer JakenBlake found himself in a dangerous situation during his latest livestream. Jake had just flown into Texas on the evening of July 22 and planned to meet some friends and explore the area. During his stream, he decided to explore the city at 1 PM, the hottest time of day. His gear was minimal: just a fabric hat and a cup of bubble tea.

After about 30 minutes walking in nearly 40-degree heat, Jake told his viewers he was showing signs of heatstroke. Despite trying hard to move, he couldn’t reach a shaded spot or buy a cold drink to cool down. His chat was full of worried fans watching him struggle with his health.
Just when it seemed Jake might collapse on the streets of Texas, a kind stranger rushed over to help him find the nearest shaded area. The stranger even bought him a drink. Once he recovered, Jake sincerely thanked the man. “This guy saved my life. I don’t even know how to express my gratitude,” Jake said live on stream.

For those who don’t know, JakenBlake is a hugely popular Twitch streamer. He started his streaming career in June 2017 when he first moved to Tokyo, Japan. With a unique concept of exploring the world through livestreams, Jake has built a massive fanbase. His Twitch channel now has over 550,000 followers. After this incident, Jake definitely needs to pay more attention to his health instead of risking it all for content.
