“Nắng” is one of the most beloved female streamers out there.
She always brings her fans something simple and genuine, making viewers feel close and connected whenever they watch her livestreams. Her real name is Đàm Thanh Huyền, born on January 18, 1998, but she often says her spirit is still 18 years old, young and full of joy.
Her older sister, Hằng Đàm, is also a well-known figure in the gaming community, but Nắng missed many chances to pursue this career despite having a clear path laid out. She was hesitant because she didn’t grow up playing games and was naturally shy, so she didn’t feel ready to become a streamer.
It wasn’t until she quit her job as a designer that she decided to give streaming a shot. Of course, she didn’t expect to stick with it long term. Yet now, after five years, Nắng has nearly one million followers.
The streamer reveals her deeply personal story for the first time
Few people know that this cheerful, positive, and lively streamer has been fighting a rare disease: “When I was 11, I was diagnosed with bone cancer, specifically bone sarcoma. It’s a rare cancer, less than 1% of all cancers, and 5% of childhood cancers, with a high malignancy rate. I took a year off to have surgery and six months of chemotherapy before returning to school. In all five years of streaming, I’ve never shared this story,” Nắng tearfully revealed on stream.
But that’s not all. She continued with a heartbreaking update: “I didn’t just have cancer once, but twice. At 25 years old, in 2023, I developed a secondary malignant tumor in my lungs, which had spread from the bone. After 14 years of being healthy, I thought I was cured, but then it metastasized. I had the tumor removed and underwent nearly a year of cancer treatment. I’m currently doing chemotherapy at home and will be discharged soon. Now that I’m feeling better, I’m ready to share my story with everyone.”
The streamer hopes: “I thought a lot before deciding to open up, so I hope everyone will be gentle. I want to inspire those who don’t believe cancer can be cured.”
