IRL streams, where streamers share their daily lives and activities, always bring plenty of surprises.
But this format also comes with risks, sometimes leading to awkward or even dangerous moments live on air. A recent example is streamer Oh Geung-jeong, who is still shaken after a scary incident during her recent trip.
Not long ago, Oh Geung-jeong planned a trip to Jeju Island with friends and booked a nice room. Fans were excited to follow her journey live.
The stream started smoothly as she visited popular restaurants and tourist spots. But things took a turn when she returned to the room and accidentally fell asleep while still live on camera. At that moment, a stranger sneaked into the room while she and her friend were asleep. Luckily, the man seemed aware of the live stream and didn’t do anything extreme. He quietly stood at a distance and even pulled out his phone, possibly recording the scene. Fans noticed something was off and tried waking her by spamming donations, but she was too exhausted to notice.
It wasn’t until the next morning, when she woke up and saw the flood of messages from viewers, that Oh Geung-jeong checked the stream footage in horror. Her team immediately reported the incident to the police. Unfortunately, CCTV footage was too blurry to clearly identify the intruder. Initial investigation suggests the suspect entered through an unlocked back door she forgot to secure. A man was arrested but claimed to have no memory due to being drunk.
After the terrifying experience, Oh Geung-jeong left the hotel immediately and told fans this was the scariest moment of her career. Thankfully, she wasn’t seriously hurt or lost anything.
