Streamers running into issues during live broadcasts is nothing new in the gaming world.
But the recent case of popular Chinese streamer Nu Liu has the online community laughing at the irony. Because of a single scene in the hot new AAA title 007: First Light, her channel’s rating was unexpectedly dropped by the platform, seriously affecting her viewer reach.

According to posts spreading across gaming forums, the streamer recently spent time playing 007: First Light, one of the most talked-about action games lately.
While chatting with viewers, Nu Liu kept cracking jokes about the story and character design. She was especially surprised by the portrayal of James Bond in the game. Nu Liu mentioned that the main character has close relationships with many female characters throughout the story. She even joked that Bond seems to have a very active love life, which made many viewers in chat laugh.
But the unexpected trouble came from a seemingly normal scene in the game. In a cutscene by the pool, the female character Teresa appears wearing a very revealing swimsuit. This kind of imagery is common in James Bond-inspired works, where Bond Girls play a key role in adding cinematic flair and appeal to the story. Viewers enjoyed this part of the livestream. However, after the stream ended, Nu Liu revealed that her account was penalized by Douyin because the system flagged the content as sensitive.

Losing points on the platform is more than just a simple warning. Many streamers say that rating scores directly affect content recommendations, potential viewer numbers, and how well future livestreams perform. Because of this, the incident caused Nu Liu quite a bit of trouble.
The important thing is that Nu Liu never intended to create controversial content. She was simply playing the game and streaming what the developers built. Many viewers see this as a frustrating situation where the streamer suffers consequences from scenes already included in the game.

Beyond the side story, Nu Liu spent plenty of time reviewing 007: First Light. She called it one of the most impressive AAA games she’s played recently. The streamer praised the tight pacing, engaging story, and how it keeps players hooked for hours.
Still, she was honest about some flaws. Specifically, the late-game boss fights felt repetitive and lacked variety. Nu Liu said the middle to late stages sometimes dragged, making the experience less exciting than the early parts.
