Donations have become a common part of streamer culture worldwide. At first, they were a way for fans to show support and appreciation for the entertainment streamers provide. But over time, this habit has evolved, and now some fans use donations to set challenges or even bizarre dares for streamers to complete. Recently, one streamer went viral after earning around 200 million VND (about $9,000) in just 5 minutes, but the cost to his health was high.

The streamer in question is Cheol-gu, not very famous but well-known enough. During a recent livestream with his wife, he was shocked when a viewer challenged him to sit in an outdoor ice bath for 5 minutes. The reward? A donation worth 100,000 balloons, which equals about 10 million won or 200 million VND. If he failed, both he and his wife would have to shave their eyebrows live on stream.

It was the middle of winter, with temperatures below freezing and snow falling. Still, the tempting 200 million VND pushed Cheol-gu to accept. He prepared a tub filled with ice and submerged himself. At first, he seemed tough and unaffected by the cold, but that didn’t last long. By the third minute, he was clenching his hands tightly, clearly struggling to keep going.
He completed the challenge, and his triumphant return to the livestream earned sympathy from viewers. Acting tough, he even refused a blanket, but his pale, blue lips told the real story of how cold he was. Luckily, the fans kept their promise and sent the full 200 million VND donation right after.

However, many viewers expressed concern for Cheol-gu’s health. Some criticized the stunt as selling out one’s well-being for donations, warning that taking orders from viewers like this sets a dangerous precedent for streamers.
