The release of 12,028 pages of transaction records shocked many as they revealed how some celebrities handled charity and relief efforts.
Charity work, which should be about kindness and sincerity, has now been twisted into a stunt by some popular TikTokers to show off and gain attention.
Among them are two well-known TikTokers, L.P and VAPP. Media outlets have called them out in reports titled “Celebrities Exploiting Relief Efforts, Recycling Old Tricks?” The influencer L.P has also been involved in multiple past controversies over showy charity acts.
Along with public outrage, streamer Độ Mixi, who rarely comments on social media issues, felt compelled to speak up.
The community leader admitted he felt excited and satisfied seeing those who exploited charity exposed:
“This has been going on for years. I’m really glad about it. Maybe I’m petty or jealous, but people who take advantage of others’ hardships for personal gain should be immediately boycotted. This behavior can’t be ignored. These people shouldn’t appear on social media anymore.
For years, I’ve tried to take some responsibility, build schools, bridges, support those in need, and I haven’t taken a single penny. I feel if I did otherwise, I’d wake up every morning feeling terrible,” the community leader expressed.
Always at the forefront of charity efforts, Độ Mixi is known for projects like building schools and bridges, helping people in tough situations, and supporting communities hit by storms and floods.
After the heavy damage caused by Storm No. 3, the streamer donated 500 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Cao Bang province to help ease the disaster’s impact on his homeland.
