A Canadian streamer with over 100,000 followers stirs controversy claiming spicy noodles gave her stomach ulcers

According to media reports, on August 26, a Canadian internet star named “Wasim” with more than 100,000 followers declared that spicy noodles “burned her stomach” and threatened to sue to have instant noodles removed from the Canadian market.

Previously, she admitted to being a “spicy noodle fanatic” and said she was addicted to the dish, eating it at least three times a week. On July 31, she uploaded a video showing herself lying in a hospital bed. She claimed her stomach was “burned” from consuming this super spicy instant noodle regularly over a long period. She was diagnosed with severe stomach ulcers.

The most shocking part wasn’t her hospitalization, but what came next. The streamer suddenly posted on social media, harshly criticizing the spicy noodle maker for creating a product “too dangerous” for consumers’ health. She claimed the company should be responsible for the consequences she suffered. Not stopping at criticism, she demanded the manufacturer pay a huge compensation of “millions of dollars” for the damage to her health and career.

On August 16, the streamer officially announced she would file a lawsuit demanding a massive 15 million Canadian dollars from the noodle company. However, she continued eating spicy noodles even after being diagnosed with stomach ulcers and while pursuing the lawsuit. She openly admitted, “I really love noodles, but I love 15 million dollars more.”

Her actions sparked strong backlash from the online community, with most calling her demands unreasonable and ridiculous.

Eating too much, especially spicy food, has long been known to harm the stomach. The streamer knowingly took this risk, seemingly to get views, so many believe she should take full responsibility. Some think this is a blatant attention-seeking stunt to make money unfairly. She put herself in danger to earn donations and then blamed others when things went wrong.

However, a small number of people argue the manufacturer should share some responsibility. They say if the product is “dangerously” spicy, clearer warnings should be provided, even though these products already have some level of spice warnings.

As the controversy grew, the manufacturer recently responded. Their representative called her accusations “baseless” and confirmed no lawsuits have been filed against the noodle brand.

The streamer’s “tantrum” not only cost her respect from the community but also seriously damaged her own reputation. The line between creativity and recklessness is thin, and crossing it can cost more than money, it can cost your career and your audience’s trust.
