The Fierce Rivalry Between Vietnam’s Top Liên Quân Teams
Right now, any Liên Quân player knows One Star Esports and Saigon Phantom well. These two are the strongest teams in the AOG region and have been fierce rivals facing off in multiple seasons.
At the Winter 2024 Arena of Glory, these two teams met for the eighth time in the Grand Finals, battling fiercely for the Glory Sword and Shield. In all seven previous encounters, Saigon Phantom came out on top. To this day, the Saigon Phantoms still reign supreme.
No Surprises for Liên Quân Fans
Starting with a familiar game plan, SGP quickly took the first two points from 1S. This year, the offense-defense duo Kuga and Khoa worked seamlessly. In the first game, Kuga’s Yena disrupted 1S’s formation, while in game two, Khoa’s Mina dazzled with stunning team fight initiations.
But game three marked the first turning point in this long best-of-seven series. With 1S picking several surprise heroes, they exploited SGP’s mistakes and secured all three lanes early. From there, 1S snowballed and earned a valuable point.
Just when it seemed like 1S was back in form, SGP showed why they’re champions. They picked Elsu for Phoenix in game four, who tore through the opponents. Riding that momentum, SGP took game five and sealed the series 4-1, just like in previous matchups.
Clearly, this eighth win over 1S proves the undeniable skill and resilience of the Saigon Phantoms. Congratulations to Saigon Phantom and One Star Esports for delivering an emotional rollercoaster for the Vietnamese Liên Quân community.
