As you probably know, Riot is heavily investing in the Arcane series streaming on Netflix. This show is based on the stories of champions from League of Legends. The first season focuses on the lives of Vi and Jinx and events in the twin cities of Zaun and Piltover. Besides the sisters Vi and Jinx, familiar faces like Jayce, Caitlyn, and Viktor also appear.
On October 19 (Vietnam time), Riot released two new skins for Jayce and Vi inspired by the series. Alongside these, the Glory Blitzcrank skin, awarded to players ranked Gold or higher at season’s end, was teased ahead of the 2021 World Championship kickoff.

However, some fans are disappointed because Vi’s skin looks almost identical to her default look, except for a different hairstyle, an older outfit, and a slightly younger face. Aside from Jayce’s skin, Vi’s barely changes. Plus, Riot only released two skins so far, even though the Arcane series features three more champions: Jinx, Caitlyn, and Viktor. This has led to fans repeatedly asking about the missing skins.
There’s also an unconfirmed rumor that these Arcane skins will be free but only obtainable through certain missions, similar to the Unbound Thresh skin. Whatever the case, it’s clear Riot is putting serious effort into the Arcane series. In a way, this shows Riot’s commitment to expanding champion lore and could hint at future champion reworks.
