PXN has just launched their new gaming controller, the PXN 9609. This model isn’t aimed at direct retail but is an original design manufacturer (ODM) product for other brands, so the packaging looks a bit different. Still, the design feels carefully crafted and polished.
The PXN 9609 is available in four color options: Splatoon (Purple – Green), Animal Crossing (Green), Goku (Orange), and Neon (Blue – Red).
The Neon (Blue – Red) version is probably the most popular thanks to its bold look and great match with the Nintendo Switch color scheme.
Unlike earlier PXN models like the 9613 or 9616, which only supported PC, PS3, or Android, the PXN 9609 supports multiple platforms including iOS, Android, Switch, PC, and PlayStation 3. And it does all this at a very affordable price of just 499,000 VND (under $25), making it a great option for most gamers today.
The PXN 9609 features a classic Xbox-style controller shape, which fits comfortably for most users. It has an asymmetrical design with two analog sticks and joysticks on either side.
This controller comes packed with buttons for versatile use across platforms. For example, it has a Home button (with a house icon) that powers on/off and interacts with the Switch system.
The T button is a Turbo function that lets you press it along with any other button to boost input efficiency, instead of pressing multiple buttons repeatedly. It also supports screenshot capture and the + and – buttons for Switch gameplay.
The PXN 9609 uses a modern and widely adopted USB Type-C charging port, showing clear improvements from PXN’s previous models.
Compared to the PXN 9603, the 9609 has a slimmer, more youthful design aimed at younger gamers who spend more time playing.
One unique thing is the packaging doesn’t show the PXN brand since this is a newly released model made for other companies, so the box isn’t the final retail version yet. But if you’re looking for a solid controller with good looks, quality, and long battery life, the PXN 9609 is definitely worth considering.
