Earlier, the Criminal Police Department and the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Da Nang Police discovered several secret groups on Telegram showing signs of prostitution brokerage activity in the city.
Using professional investigative methods, the Criminal Police Department teamed up with the Cybersecurity Department to identify Nguyen Truong Anh Tuan (born 1985, resident of Chau Tu village, Binh Nguyen commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, temporarily residing in Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city) as the mastermind and leader running a prostitution brokerage ring in Da Nang.
Through the Telegram app, Tuan created an “ecosystem” of multiple pages and secret groups such as “Lan Que Phuong Da Nang,” “Lan Que Phuong Chat,” “List Hot Lan Que Phuong,” and “Da Nang Love Market.” These groups posted photos promoting sex workers (provided by the workers themselves) to interact and “advertise” to potential clients, conducting prostitution brokerage for illegal profit and attracting thousands of members and accounts.
On April 10, the Director of Da Nang Police ordered the Criminal Police Department to set up a special investigation case titled “Prostitution Brokerage in Da Nang” involving multiple forces, with the Criminal Police and Cybersecurity Departments leading the operation. On April 15, the task force cracked the case, arrested Nguyen Truong Anh Tuan, and dismantled the prostitution ring.
During initial interrogation, Nguyen Truong Anh Tuan admitted to his crimes. He created the Telegram group “Lan Que Phuong,” which has been active since 2022 and currently has 14,611 members.
Over time, Tuan connected with and recruited over 300 sex workers to operate within this ring. The price per encounter ranged from 500,000 to 5,000,000 VND.
Tuan profited from the prostitution brokerage by charging monthly fees from each sex worker, ranging from 500,000 to 2,000,000 VND per month.
From 2022 until now, the total transaction amount related to prostitution on the “Lan Que Phuong” group reached tens of billions of VND, with Tuan earning billions from his brokerage activities.
Currently, the Criminal Police Department is working with the Cybersecurity Department to continue expanding the investigation and arrest other involved suspects.
