This real-time strategy game is the sequel to Command & Conquer 1. Released by Westwood Studios in 2000, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 features the Soviet and Allied factions, both of which appeared in the original Red Alert.
Red Alert 2 was a commercial and critical hit, earning an 86% rating on GameRankings.
Chrono Chia is a fan-made project aiming to recreate Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 using web technology. The result is a game that runs on any modern web browser (yes, even on mobile devices!) without needing extra plugins or apps. After creating an account, you can quickly start your own match or join others. There are usually plenty of players online, and matchmaking happens pretty fast.
The project started as an experiment to prove that a cross-platform RTS could fully run in a web browser. Now with a playable alpha version, the ultimate goal is to match the original Red Alert 2 engine’s features.
One thing to note: since this is currently an alpha version, there’s no Quick Match or Campaign mode. The only mode available is Custom Match, where you play against other online players. Some advanced units and buildings are also missing in this build.
