New Chibi Little Champions Cost More Than Legendary Skins in TFT

The new Chibi Little Champions in TFT come with a price tag that many players find way too high.

Little Legends are an essential part of Teamfight Tactics, serving as the player avatars in the game mode. Over time, the number of Little Legends has grown significantly, with Riot even designing them around themes. For example, the recent Little Legends released in sets 5 and 5.5 featured styles like Dawnbringer and Nightbringer.

In the upcoming Set 6, Riot is introducing a new type called Little Champions. These are Little Legends modeled in a chibi style after popular League of Legends champions. The initial lineup includes Jinx, Vi, and Ekko, all from the cities of Zaun and Piltover.

Recently, Riot Mortdog shared the pricing for the new TFT Pass bundles and the Chibi Little Champions on his personal page. Although these prices are currently on the PBE server and subject to change, Riot set the price for each Chibi Little Champion at 1900 RP. To put that in perspective, in the North American market, this is nearly three times the price of a standard 1-star Little Legend and just 11 RP less than the full TFT Pass bundle with the accompanying Little Legend Egg (1911 RP). At 1900 RP, these new Little Legends actually cost more than some legendary skins like Blood Moon Yasuo and Battle Bunny Riven, which are priced at 1820 RP on NA servers.

Seeing these sky-high prices, the international TFT community has been vocal with complaints. Most feel that 1900 RP for a Chibi Little Champion with just a few emotes is way too much, even though Riot Mortdog insists this price reflects their premium quality compared to the older system.

Too expensive? They look great, yes. Worth 1900 RP? No. 750 to 975 RP fits better with TFT's usual pricing and what they offer

Price is too high: $15 for a Little Legend plus another $15 for the pass? This is why I stopped playing TFT and prefer auto battlers. This feels greedy. Why not 1350 RP, about $10?

I would never buy these at 1900 RP, that's crazy

Riot Mortdog: We believe they're worth more than $10 (the highest price in the old Little Legend system on NA servers). It's important to have some items priced above average. We have regular Little Legends ($5), the Pass (around $10), and now we're introducing premium items (around $15). If you don't think it's worth it, that's okay!

Still, these prices are only on the PBE server for now, and Riot usually surveys player feedback before the official release. If a feature or change gets too much backlash, Riot might adjust it. A recent example is the removal of the global chat frame system in League of Legends after heavy community criticism forced Riot to scrap the idea.
