Tian, a man from Hebei province, lost his mobile phone three years ago while working on road construction.
One day, while walking with his family, he unexpectedly discovered his beloved phone buried deep under the cement of that very road.
According to Chinese media, this road is over 20 years old. In the summer of 2018, during a village road renovation project, Tian was chosen as the site supervisor. During construction, he accidentally dropped his phone without realizing it. It likely slipped from his pocket and sank into the still-wet cement of the new road. Over time, as the road surface wore down, the unlucky phone began to reappear.
“I thought I had lost it for good since I couldn’t find it and stopped searching,” Tian said. He mentioned he had only used the phone for about a year and bought a new one right after losing the old one.

“I must have dropped the phone while working and couldn’t find it. Then, when my family went out for a walk, I suddenly spotted it. Looking closer, I was really surprised to see it was my phone. It felt like a miracle, so I took a photo right away.”
Tian said he plans to carefully dig up the phone to see if it still works, and of course, he’ll use cement to fill the hole in the road.
