A Singapore man was rushed to the hospital after a bizarre attack by a group of otters in a park.
Graham George Spencer, a British expat, still feels shaken thinking about the terrifying encounter with the otters on November 30, while walking in the Singapore Botanic Gardens with a friend.
Spencer, around 60 years old, was reportedly jogging when he suddenly saw about 20 otters charging straight toward him.

It turned out the otters were chasing another runner nearby. Luckily, that person escaped, but the otters then targeted Spencer and decided to attack him.
According to media reports, the otters bit his ankles and jumped onto his body, continuing to bite around his legs, shoes, buttocks, and even one finger.
“I was bitten 26 times in 10 seconds,” Spencer told Today in horror.

Then Spencer’s friend, about “15 steps away,” ran over and shouted to scare off the furry attackers.
Spencer was quickly taken to the hospital, where treatment cost around 20 million VND (about $860) for his wounds.
Doctors were surprised to see such a severe otter attack case for the first time. However, they said Spencer was lucky not to have contracted rabies from the wild animals.
Rabies infection almost always leads to death.
