On the evening of June 20, popular YouTuber Khoa Pug surprised many fans by appearing in a new vlog, despite announcing his retirement from YouTube back in April after five years.
Explaining his comeback, Khoa Pug said he had finished his travel review series. Now, with his return, the old Khoa Pug is “dead,” and he will be a new version of himself. His upcoming vlogs will focus on his leg-lengthening journey. His announcement left viewers shocked and amazed.
Khoa Pug revealed his actual height is 1.67m, and now he wants to undergo leg-lengthening surgery to reach 1.80 to 1.82 meters. He chose to have the procedure done in the US, despite the high costs. He trusts a top doctor trained at Harvard University to handle the surgery.
“I’ve been breathing air at 1.67m for over 30 years. Now I want to try breathing at 1.80m, let’s see how it feels, guys,” Khoa Pug joked. He also admitted feeling nervous and having thought a lot before making this decision.
He visited the doctor for consultation and an examination of his bones and ligaments. The doctor confirmed he was healthy enough to have the surgery the very next day.
To maximize his height gain, Khoa Pug will first lengthen his thigh bones by 8cm on each side. After surgery, it will take about 80 days for the thigh bones to grow the full 8cm.
Then, he will wait a year for the thigh bones to heal before lengthening his shin bones by about 7cm on each side.
Since leg-lengthening is a cosmetic surgery, it is not covered by insurance. Khoa Pug will pay all costs himself. Before the first surgery, he paid $73,000 (about 1.7 billion VND). Additional expenses for accommodation, medication, and physical therapy will cost around $30,000 (nearly 700 million VND). In total, this surgery will cost him about 2.4 billion VND.
The YouTuber added that to complete the entire leg-lengthening process and reach 1.80 to 1.82 meters, he expects to spend around 5 billion VND.
Within about 5 hours of posting, Khoa Pug’s comeback vlog reached nearly 350,000 views. Many fans expressed excitement about his updates and are eager to see how he looks at 1.80 meters tall.
