Over the past two days, netizens have been glued to the drama as the main players in the Khoa Pug and Johnny Dang fallout all spoke out together. Shocking details have come to light, along with some unforgettable quotes from the once-close friends.
One standout line was Khoa Pug saying, “30 billion VND is a lot to you, but to me it’s like trash.” Although surprising, fans weren’t too skeptical since Khoa Pug has a history of jaw-dropping spending, like dropping 6 billion VND on a restaurant in the US, carrying stacks of cash to buy a Mercedes C300 AMG, and spending 700 million VND on a diamond necklace. The biggest flex was teaming up with Vuong Pham to buy a private jet worth 115 billion VND.
But recently, this very deal has sparked controversy after a thorough expose appeared online accusing Khoa Pug and Vuong Pham of lying and misleading their audience. A YouTuber named P.D made a nearly 35-minute video pointing out inconsistencies in the story of the 100-billion VND jet purchase by the wealthy duo.
Back on October 28, Khoa Pug uploaded a video documenting the entire journey of buying the private jet with Vuong Pham. The video was titled “Blockbuster Deal: $5M Private Jet Purchase to Vietnam!”.
In the video, Vuong Pham repeatedly claimed he had put down a deposit because the jet was in high demand. He even referred to it as “my plane” and whispered to the jet, “Come home with me, baby.”
Khoa Pug said his video was unique because it showed the entire buying process, checking out the jet, approving it, and negotiating the price. Near the end, he revealed they had sealed the deal and expected the jet to arrive in about two months or sooner.
In the video description, Khoa Pug wrote: “The other day, we rented a private jet for $11,000 a day to test it out, but it was too small and uncomfortable. So today we decided to buy a jet twice as big, costing twice as much, $5 million, about 115 billion VND. This jet can fly back to Vietnam, so next year I won’t have to spend money on plane tickets haha.”
The video quickly racked up over 4.4 million views, with fans amazed by their wealth and generosity. But according to P.D, the expose creator, this whole deal was just a “scam.”
The first contradiction came when P.D checked the Controller website, the same site Vuong Pham said he used to view and place a deposit on the jet. P.D found that the plane with tail number N236N, matching the one Khoa Pug and Vuong Pham claimed to have bought, was still listed on the site. Normally, when any product, including a plane, is sold online, the seller marks it as SOLD or removes the listing. But instead of “SOLD,” the listing for plane N236N said “CALL FOR PRICE.” This means that as of December 1 (Canada time), the jet was still for sale, contradicting Khoa Pug’s claim that the deal was finalized back in late October.
The second contradiction P.D pointed out was the jet’s price. When checking on November 23, the seller listed the price as $1,995,000 (about 45.4 billion VND). Meanwhile, Khoa Pug claimed they paid $5 million (about 115 billion VND).
While Khoa Pug said he and Vuong Pham spent $5 million to buy the jet, the official website still listed it for sale at just under $2 million.
At the end of his video, the exposer jokingly renamed Khoa Pug and Vuong Pham as Khoa “Blowhard” and Vuong “Blowhard” for their “systematic exaggerations, professional lying, and fooling the Vietnamese online community.”
