When it comes to one of Vietnam’s most controversial YouTubers this year, Hung Vlog definitely tops the list. Known as the son of Ba Tan (real name Nguyen Van Hung), he has faced heavy criticism for videos with offensive content, from cooking chicken porridge with feathers still in it to teaching others how to steal money from piggy banks. Following this, the Bac Giang Department of Information and Communications fined him a total of 17.5 million VND and demanded he remove all those videos from his YouTube channel.
Facing this series of scandals, Ba Tan’s son decided to pause uploading new videos on his Hung Vlog channel, which has over 2.92 million subscribers. His Facebook account also stopped sharing anything starting October 1. Notably, his other channel, Hung Troll, was also spotted by netizens as having disappeared without a trace.

Just tonight, Hung Vlog posted an official apology in the Community tab on his YouTube channel. The full message reads:
“Apology Corner:
Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I uploaded a video for you. I’m very sorry because over the past two weeks I’ve been the focus of criticism. I’m very sad and under a lot of pressure.
If you’ve followed me for a long time, you know I make videos just to bring laughter to everyone. None of my videos are meant to teach or encourage you to do the same. The two recent videos were originally just meant to troll (joke with) my family. Due to ignorance, those videos violated Vietnamese customs and traditions. I deeply regret this and apologize to elders, parents, and anyone with young children.
If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t make videos like that again. I sincerely apologize to everyone and hope you will continue to support me going forward. Thank you all!”

It’s clear that Ba Tan’s son regrets his actions and didn’t anticipate the consequences of his videos. Fans reacted to Hung Vlog’s apology with many comments mostly showing sympathy because he acknowledged his mistakes.
– “It’s okay, everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how you fix them!”
– “I’ll keep supporting you, just please learn from this and don’t make videos encouraging wrong actions anymore.”
– “I think you should invest in creating new content, cut back on silly and offensive jokes. If you keep going like before, your channel will just fade away. Wishing you success!”

Let’s wait and see what Ba Tan’s son brings us next!
