Accordingly, the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee directed:
– From 6 PM on May 3, all businesses providing services such as music and theater stages, cinemas, massage and steam rooms, and electronic game centers must temporarily suspend operations until further notice.
– Dam Sen Cultural Park will be closed for 7 days to review responsibility after allowing large crowds during the May 1 holiday.
– Non-urgent conferences and seminars must be postponed. For important meetings already planned, organizers must reduce scale and attendance, strictly following the 5K health regulations.
Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized tightening discipline and accountability among department heads and local authorities, warning against any negligence to ensure a safe city and effective COVID-19 control.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City suspended bars, karaoke, and nightclubs from 6 PM April 30 amid sensitive pandemic conditions.
Regarding the suspension period, during an emergency meeting on April 30, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said the city will decide when to allow these three types of services to reopen based on the evolving situation.
