Regarding the latest Covid case recorded in Hanoi on the afternoon of January 30, the Hanoi CDC reported that the patient is N. D. P. (male, born 1987, currently renting a room at Group 11, Dong Anh Town, Dong Anh District).
Patient P. is a close contact (F1) of patient N. V. M. (40 years old, permanent address in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) who works in the same workshop at the factory. The patient was tested on January 29, with a positive SARS-CoV-2 result confirmed by Hanoi CDC on January 30.
He is currently isolated and treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, facility 2. This is the fourth Covid-19 case in Hanoi during this wave.
The patient works daily at factory Z153 (milling department, about 30 people in the same workshop) and returns to his rented room in Group 11, Dong Anh Town in the evenings. He has a history of chronic pharyngitis for about 10 years. He visits his wife’s hometown in Thai Nguyen once a week (his in-laws live in Pho Yen town).
At his rented room in Group 11, Dong Anh, the patient lives alone. The rental area has only two rooms, next door lives a couple with one child. They have daily contact in the shared living area.
The patient started feeling slight chest tightness on January 26 but did not have fever or cough symptoms.
