Following directives from the Hanoi People’s Committee in Official Dispatch No. 04/CĐ-UBND dated April 29, 2021, on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control in Hanoi, Official Dispatch No. 05/CĐ-UBND dated May 2, 2021, on intensifying COVID-19 prevention after the April 30 and May 1 holidays, and Official Dispatch No. 06/CĐ-UBND dated May 3, 2021, on temporarily suspending non-essential activities to prevent COVID-19 in the city, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has issued an order to stop in-person schooling.
Specifically, students at all levels including preschool, primary, secondary, high school, continuing education, professional training, language centers, IT centers, cultural and skills training, foreign-invested short-term training facilities, and preschool education institutions in Hanoi will temporarily stop attending school from May 4 until further notice.
During this period, students will switch to online learning.
So far, five provinces and cities have ordered students to temporarily stop attending school: Hanoi, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, with Yen Bai and Hung Yen allowing some local areas to pause in-person classes.
