Last weekend (September 7), at Spartacus Gaming Center (8 Quang Trung, Ha Dong, Hanoi), GTV hosted the highly anticipated Hanoi Final 2024 grand finals. This was arguably the biggest eSports event of the year for Age of Empires (AoE) and Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), backed by major sponsors like DareU, AKKO, ViewSonic, Western Digital, Skin.club, and more, boosting the event’s scale and quality with a total prize pool of 150 million VND.
Despite tough weather conditions, Hanoi Final 2024 drew passionate fans including famous players Chim Sẻ Đi Nắng, Dev Nguyễn, and Nhism from Refund Gaming, along with the AoE and CS2 communities from across the country.
Hanoi Final 2024 Grand Final – Age of Empires
This year’s Hanoi Final 2024 featured a unique 2-player, 1-color format (also called dual control), a special mode created by the AoE community. It helps narrow the skill gap between semi-pro and pro players, resulting in balanced, thrilling matches for the audience.
The AoE grand final saw two well-known semi-pro teams, Tễu Canh (Ronal Tễu and Đinh Xuân Canh) and Bắc Giang (TinTin and Phán Đoàn), battle it out. Both teams are respected names in the casual AoE scene. The final was a nail-biter, with Tễu Canh narrowly clinching victory 9-8 in a tense race to 9.
Hanoi Final 2024 Grand Final – Counter-Strike 2
The Hanoi Final 2024 CS2 grand final marked the first Vietnamese tournament featured on HLTV (the international CS:GO news site) in five years. The showdown was an epic clash between the North’s Blaze Warriors and the South’s Elocon Clan, the top teams from their regions.
The match promised intense action as these teams were champions of the Spring (Elocon Clan) and Summer (Blaze Warriors) seasons of the GPlay Premier series organized by GTV.
In the end, the championship trophy stayed in Hanoi after a stormy day. Blaze Warriors were crowned Vietnam’s CS2 champions after a convincing 3-map victory over Elocon Clan, the best team from the South.
Final Thoughts
The Hanoi Final 2024 grand finals, held during the BIG OFFLINE event on September 7, ended with great success and memorable moments. This milestone marks a new chapter for GTV as it aims to bring even bigger events to the Vietnamese eSports community and eventually expand internationally.
