On the afternoon of May 4, at a Hanoi Covid-19 prevention meeting, Tran Thi Nhi Ha, Director of Hanoi’s Department of Health, announced a new positive case involving a doctor from a central hospital.
According to Ms. Ha, this suspected case is complicated due to extensive movement, with close contacts scattered across many districts including Dong Anh, Ba Vi, Dong Da, Tay Ho, and Hoang Mai.
“The individual lives in Ba Dinh district and visited the Moonlight karaoke bar at 54 Chua Lang Street (Dong Da district) from around 10 PM to midnight on April 29. Therefore, I urge all districts to be cautious, activate their Covid-19 response teams, and start contact tracing immediately. We have also notified the healthcare system to urgently get involved in tracing,” Ms. Ha said.
Regarding this suspected case, in an interview on the evening of May 4, Mr. Ta Nam Chien, Chairman of Ba Dinh District People’s Committee, confirmed receiving information that the doctor living on Kim Ma Street tested suspected positive for Covid-19 after traveling abroad for work. Ba Dinh district has already implemented preventive measures.
