Girl Uses Wheelchair to Keep Feet Dry, Sparks Backlash

Worrying about dirty feet is one thing, but putting your feet on public seats affects others.

Not long ago, a popular Chinese blogger shared a photo meant to entertain her fans, but it unexpectedly stirred up a huge controversy.

Using “fear of dirt” as a special privilege

The photo shows a stylish young woman holding an umbrella and smiling brightly while sitting in a wheelchair. Behind her, a man holds another umbrella and pushes the wheelchair for her.

The post included the caption: “The part of me that’s most afraid of getting dirty is my feet. Wearing flip-flops in the rain is so exhausting. Then my boyfriend bought me a wheelchair to get around, so now I can wear shoes even when it rains.”

It’s not unusual for social media bloggers to do unusual things to gain attention.

But seriously, does someone really need to spend money on a wheelchair just to keep their feet dry?

If you’re afraid of getting wet, why go out shopping at all? Wouldn’t staying home be simpler?

Many netizens were left speechless:

“Does this girl really think she’s a princess? Doing something ridiculous and then posting it online.”

“Is she out of her mind? For people who actually need wheelchairs, sitting in one isn’t something to smile about.”

That’s the truth! While it’s her right to use a wheelchair to avoid the rain, sharing it on social media like this offends many who are forced to rely on wheelchairs.

But this isn’t the first time this blogger has taken her “fear of dirt” way too far.

Previously, she posted a photo sitting with her shoes on a seat inside a convenience store, striking a provocative pose while eating and taking pictures.

Clearly, she’s just one example of people who lack awareness and think they have special privileges in society.

Though she’s not young anymore, her mindset and behavior are childish. She sees herself as the center of attention, with no regard for others or community standards.

Yet, people like her become famous on social media, setting trends and influencing public opinion, leading many young people to imitate them.

Is it worth risking safety just to follow trends?

Recently, another senseless trend has been spreading across Chinese social platforms.

Girls dressed in Japanese school uniforms lie down on pedestrian crosswalks, ignoring onlookers and danger, just to pose for photos inspired by the “sudden accident of a schoolgirl” concept.

Many people probably don’t understand what’s so cool or beautiful about this photo style that it became a trend.

Many bloggers rush outside to take these photos, mostly schoolgirls still in class.

Have you seen two girls in Heyuan (Guangdong, China) lying flat on the road, ignoring traffic?

Sometimes standing, sometimes sitting, even lying down on the street like it’s their bedroom.

Cars honk to warn them, but they don’t realize they’re blocking traffic and risking their lives.

Many netizens criticized:

“If an accident happens, they’ll blame the driver. These people might not be well-educated, but their awareness is terrible. Not everyone with education knows how to think or act responsibly.”

For the sake of internet fame or shallow vanity, some break ethical and legal boundaries. If something bad happens, they probably won’t be able to handle the consequences.

“Stay grounded in unstable times”

The world doesn’t revolve around you, and no one is responsible for cleaning up after your childish selfishness.

If you want to stand out online, you need to think responsibly and act properly, most importantly without harming others.

The essence of social media fame is attention. If your actions hurt others, who would want to like or follow you?

These toxic trends are destroying communities, especially young people, creating selfish individuals with no awareness.

A wise saying goes: “The limits of society are constantly being broken. As long as you benefit, others become just stepping stones for you, nothing more.”

Nowadays, videos of people eating, doing pointless skits, or even kneeling on the ground to imitate dog barking get tons of views and praise.

“Fear of dirt” has become an excuse for bad behavior. Photos on crosswalks inspire many to copy them.

These trends will probably keep getting weirder and more common. But hopefully, you’ll keep your own standards and boundaries, staying mature and responsible in this chaotic world.
