Many gamers have faced the frustration of having their accounts locked by game publishers. Usually, the reasons aren’t made public, and players are left with two options: stay silent or try to appeal. Unfortunately, not everyone gets a happy ending. Often, all they get is a reply from a chatbot.

That’s why a recent story about a gamer whose account was locked feels almost unbelievable. A player from Chongqing, China, had his QQ account banned and decided to travel over 1,400 kilometers all the way to Tencent’s headquarters in Shenzhen on the second day of Lunar New Year to demand it be unlocked.

“I’ve been using this QQ account since elementary school, it means a lot to me!” the gamer shared. Despite sending multiple requests to customer service, his account remained blocked. Frustrated, he told Tencent’s support team that he would come in person to get things sorted out.

In the end, his persistence paid off. After leaving Tencent’s customer service center in Shenzhen, he posted “Long time no see” on his account. After more than six months, his account was finally unblocked.

Though the trip cost him about 1,200 yuan (over 4 million VND), the gamer said it was worth it, even if it happened during the New Year holiday. “I’ll be more careful to avoid getting locked out again. I don’t want to go through this trip a second time,” he added.

The online community praised his courage and determination, calling his actions a bit naive but ultimately successful. The gamer also reminded everyone, “This was a personal decision, please don’t try this at home.”
